What the vitro meat project is about
It involves a completely new, innovative and industrially applicable meat cultivation method. This method is suited to produce, on a large industrial scale, pure 100% natural, real meat that looks similar to the meat obtained from livestock. Application of this technology will have far-reaching social and moral consequences with regard to the world's food supply and the environment. It will also decrease animal suffering and solve the problems of the manure surplus and the production of animal feed.

The inVitroMeat Foundation aims to make a structural contribution to the worldwide production of safe meat and thus help eliminate food shortages in the world. It will also make for a cleaner environment and eliminate much animal suffering.

In a nutshell, the aims of the inVitroMeat Foundation are:

  • To promote large-scale consumption of vitro meat (meat cultures outside the body) to replace traditional meat derived from slaughter.
  • To make a structural contribution towards solving food shortages by promoting the small-scale, low-threshold production of vitro meat in underprivileged areas in the world.
  • To develop new technologies for product and process improvement.
  • To eliminate animal suffering.
